Anna Morrill

December 19, 1924 — January 9, 2019

Our mother passed away quietly on January 09, 2019, at the age of 94. She was born December 19, 1924, the fourth of seven children born to David Leroy and Marion Nelson Olsen.
Anna married Horace LeRoy Morrill, Jr., in the Logan Temple,1947. Having met on a blind date, their marriage endured for more than 51 years. They were blessed with three sons and six daughters. During her marriage she resided in Logan, Utah; Malad City, Idaho and Pocatello, Idaho where she lived for over 50 years. After Horace passed away in 1999, Anna moved to Young Ward (Logan), Utah, her childhood home.
She valued education and graduated from Utah Agricultural College (now Utah State University) in 1948 with a bachelor’s degree in music.
Anna was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings throughout her life. Her favorite calling was being ward organist, sharing her love of music with the congregation. She loved to play the piano and organ, was an avid reader, and after working 24 ½ years at Lamb Weston, Inc., (American Falls, Idaho) retired where she took up writing short essays and poems about her life. After she lost most of her eyesight, she passed her time crocheting baby blankets by the “feel” method. Although she was never wealthy, she was very generous with her resources to her family, friends and any strangers that crossed her path.
Anna is survived by eight children, Horace LeRoy III (Carolyn) of Boise, Idaho; Elizabeth (Daniel) Barrett of Pleasant View, Utah; Barta (Jeffrey) Stevenson of Manhattan, Kansas; Scott (Pamela) of Young Ward, Utah; Marian (Paul) Grayson of Pocatello, Idaho; Patricia of Logan, Utah; Michelle of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Christian of Nampa, Idaho; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at the Young Ward Chapel at 11:00 am, January 14, 2019. There will be a viewing at the Young Ward Chapel, Sunday 5:00 – 7:00 PM.
Interment will be in the Logan Cemetery.
