Brenda (or Bim or BJ) Joyce Hall
Brenda was born on November 10, 1952 and passed away on November 27, 2022 at the age of 70. Don't let the name Brenda confuse you because she was known by many names. Brenda Joyce Calloway was her birth name, but she was also fondly called Bim by most of her family. BJ was her professional name and a select few called her Brenda. I am sure that many others had their own name that they would call her but this obituary might be read by minors so those names will not be listed here.
I would like to express my gratitude to the staff at IMC in Murray, UT. Mom had such caring nurses, doctors, aides, physical, occupational, respiratory and speech therapists. One special RN, Sarah is such an amazing care giver, and she is wise beyond her years. Because of Sarah, my mom spent the first day of my life with me and I was able to spend the last day of her life with her.
Mom survived the massive hemorrhagic stroke but she was not able to overcome the decades of smoking. COPD kept mom from leaving the ICU. As a child to a parent and even though it is hard to quit, please give up smoking.
Born in San Antonio, Texas - but calling Utah home - Brenda spent her life striving to help others and putting smiles on people's face. Coffee was her essential breakfast item and her favorite food was anything with the name potato in it.
Brenda touched so many lives with her caring heart and philanthropic deeds. While the last few years have been challenging due to health issues, her earlier years were spent helping needy families via: Habitat for Humanity and was also an advocate for children of domestic abuse. While Brenda had a soft side, she also had a tenacious side. With a near flawless litigation record, her true calling was to be a lawyer. Never admitting to losing an argument regardless of setting, Brenda did her research to ensure that she was well informed before fighting for a cause. She was a force to be reckoned with while working at Cantwell Brothers Lumber, Staker-Parsons, Hall-Leavitt Insurance, Logan City and Keller Williams.
Brenda supported her grandchildren in all they did, and she was very proud of each one of them. She could be found in the stands of a swim meet or on the sidelines of a soccer, football, or lacrosse game. She also attended many violin and cello concerts, not to mention spent countless nights helping with homework.
Brenda’s best friend and partner, Danny "Boone" Lundgreen had a relationship with her that spanned almost five decades. Whether it was as a support team for children or grandchildren or travel buddies to and from doctor appointments, the two were inseparable. Boone and BJ spent the last ten years navigating life together and she will be missed possibly most of all by Boone.
Brenda was married three times and had two children. She is survived by her partner Danny "Boone" Lundgreen, along with her children: Aaron (Jill) Leishman and Luke Lundgreen. She also had two stepchildren: Shelley Hall and Scottie (Nichole) Hall. Grandchildren: Morgan, Connor, Everett and Ellis. Step-grandchildren: Mickelle, Trent, Austin, Kjerstie and Ethan. Bim was also survived by her siblings: Val (Mare) Babich, Jannie Tharp, Nina Rizer and Luther "Chip" (Maria) Calloway.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther (Anne) Calloway and Joyce (Sid) Sly.
A celebration of life will be held at the Hyde Park City Hall. 113 E Center St, Hyde Park, UT 84318 on Saturday, December 3rd from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Brenda's honor be made to Habitat for Humanity (
https://www.habitat.org/donate
) or CAPSA (
https://www.capsa.org
). Cash donations to the family to help with unexpected medical and funeral expenses would also be accepted.
