Brittney Elizabeth Hahne Stephens (May 16,1995 - Nov 3, 2024) has entered into the welcoming arms of heavenly hosts after a courageous battle with cancer and a life well-lived.
Since she was a child, Brittney always strove to be independent and accountable for her responsibilities. As the youngest of four siblings, her drive began at an early age. Responsibilities like the family event planner and problem solver were what she became known for. Often self proclaiming that she was mom and dad’s favorite, we now know she has procured the position indefinitely.
Brittney loved adventure and cherished her friendships. In high school, she was part of a tight-knit group with whom she shared many memories, one of whom became her husband and eternal companion. She had varied interests and passions. In addition to obtaining a Masters in Accounting, Brittney loved to be outside hiking, biking or rock climbing.
It was while Brittney was pregnant with her second child that she began experiencing unexplainable pain. Initially thought to be pregnancy-related, the pain continued after childbirth and recovery. Brittney tried to continue life as best she could. In July of 2023, Brittney was officially diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer. Through the 15 months Brittney fought cancer she lived with fierce intention as she maintained her work commitments, remained an attentive mother to her young children, planned parties, hiked, biked, and participated in multiple races.
While the cancer aggressively ravaged her body and took everything this mortal life could offer, it cannot be said that Brittney lost her battle. On the contrary, she fought for every last bit of independence and always held herself accountable. To Brittney, life was precious, and each day was a victory.
Brittney leaves behind her two young children, Hugh and Malin, her two greatest dreams come true; her husband and steadfast rock, Kelton Stephens; her parents and compassionate caretakers, Joseph & Jan Hahne; her older sisters and their husbands—Courtney & Ryan Groneman, Kelsey & Daniel Hansen, and Lindzee Hahne; her parents-in-law, Kent & Jan Stephens; her brothers-in-law and their wives—Quinn & April Stephens, Brian & Tonya Stephens; and her twelve nephews and nieces.
She is also survived by many other family members and friends, all of whom will miss Brittney terribly, remember her admirably, and strive to carry on her legacy.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the Nibley Stake Center, 3701 S 450 W. Nibley, Utah. The service will also be available on Zoom at
