Carl Krawiec, 82 years of age, moved on from this life into Heaven. He passed on October 26, 2024. It will be joyous reuniting with his parents, John Krawiec and Victoria Mikulski. Carl was their first child, born on January 24 1942 in Dearborn Michigan, followed later by two brothers Eugene and Danny and a sister, Susan. The family relocated from Michigan to California before young Carl began elementary school.
Carl and his future wife Jolayne (Jody) Tarbet met in high school in California while practicing for a high school musical. Two years later they were married in Anaheim, California, then had two wonderful children. The family relocated from Southern California to Cache Valley in 1971, first living in Logan, then Hyrum in 1972.
Surviving is his wife, Jody Krawiec, their two sons, Christopher Todd Krawiec, Tracy John Krawiec, daughter-in-law Janette Lee Krawiec, granddaughter Cassidy Mae Watkins, and grandson, Brayden Lee Krawiec.
Carl was known for his strong will, his joy of storytelling, and his attention to detail to get the job done right!
Carl was employed at the E. A. Miller trucking and meat company for 37 years as a diesel mechanic.
An avid scuba-diver and dive-instructor in Southern California, he found new hobbies once arriving in Utah. He enrolled in flying lessons at the Logan airport, eventually earning his pilot’s license flying Cessna airplanes over the valley skies. He rode his motorcycle for transportation much of the year. The Cache Valley mountains ‘talked to him’ and he loved hiking through the hills and canyons, exploring, and hunting. There are many good memories and hunting stories with good friends.
The highlight of each summer was a ‘brothers’ fishing trip in Utah, fishing the dams and streams, and the person catching the most fish receiving their name emblazoned on the “fish ballcap”. Winter highlights were ski trips with many of the California relatives coming to Utah to enjoy thegreat Utah snow.
Carl had a great talent for leather work, wood carving, pencil sketching, braiding, and making unique items for black powder hunting.
We will miss Carl very much.
Services will be held Saturday, November 23rd in the Hyrum 15th ward , 450 East 100 South at 12 noon followed by a Celebration of Life for sharing memories and stories.
A heartfelt thanks to Cache Valley Mortuary for their care.
