Carl Walter Rogers Jr.
September 7, 1944 - June 4, 2022
Carl Walter Rogers Jr., age 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at
his home in North Logan, Utah. He was born in Los Angeles, California to Carl Walter
Sr. and June Graham Rogers. He was married to Sandra Perry in January of 1968 and
together they had 8 children: Tamara Johnson (Jason), Deanna Nielson (John), Carl III
(Debbie), Daniel (Tiffany), Steven (Robyn), Patricia Karren (Brandon), James and Amy
Murray (Dan). Carl was later married to Colleen Olsen and with her 4 existing children:
Bonnie Bowman (Rob), Jennifer Olsen, Kristen Olsen and Ken Olsen (Janiel), he
rounded it up to an even dozen. Carl was blessed with many grandchildren and just
recently his first great-grandchild, and he loved them all more than anything.
Although not a farmer or rancher by trade, he maintained a large vegetable garden and
a variety of livestock when his kids were younger. Using these as tools to help teach his
kids the value of hard work. He was a small business owner and blessed with the gift of
gab. He talked his way into more business opportunities than he should have, simply
because people liked conversing with him and he was also an excellent listener.
He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hunting, fishing and especially the time spent with
those he went with. He was active in his church, he served in a variety of roles which
included an LDS mission to Lima, Peru and one of his favorite Sunday activities was
that of home teaching. He loved family get togethers, especially if it was a pot luck with
Mexican food. He was a very handy man, always building or repairing things, helping
his kids fix their bikes, cars or whatever else needed mending. Later in life he channeled
these skills into tying flies for fishing, and painting mountain landscapes. Carl will be
remembered for his infectious laugh, good natured teasing, and his famous "Raspberry"
kisses.
