Christian Gerardo Nava (Pumpa/Teo), was born on November 8th, 1985, to Gabriela and
Gerardo Nava in Mexico City, Mexico, and passed away on October 13th, 2023, at home
surrounded by loved ones.
Christian grew up in Cache Valley with his only brother and attended and graduated Sky View
High School. Christian took after his father and started his career of boxing at a very young age.
Boxing was his passion and something he always looked forward to doing even in his free time.
Christian was a successful boxer and received “Golden Gloves” and won the “Cache Valley
Championship Belt”. After his successes in his boxing career he became a retired fighter and
started to coach boxing to spark the love of boxing for other young kids. Christian was a hard
worker and always had the biggest dreams, which he never stopped trying to achieve. Christian
loved his dog Maximus and took him everywhere he could. He always had a smile on his face,
even through his tough times, and always made it a point to make everyone around him happy.
Christian never ceased to live his life to the fullest and along with such a fulfilled life, came some
difficult life choices that took a toll on his body and cut his life way too short. He was recently
diagnosed with pneumonia which his body failed to recover from and he therefore passed in his
sleep due to these complications.
Desiree Nava, his daughter, was his whole world. She was his best friend and biggest
supporter. He loved her endlessly and would do anything for her if she just asked. Christian
always wanted to make her feel happy and loved, no matter the cost. He always was and will always be proud of Desiree and all her accomplishments. His most favorite thing in life was being her
father. Desiree, his daughter, wanted everyone to know: “My dad, Christian Nava, is strong, brave, and funny. He has funny jokes and he always knows how to put a smile on someone’s face, if you are ever sad he knows how to cheer you up. He has a good personality and his favorite thing to do is box. He is a good coach and a really good boxer. Boxing is his life, he could do it all day and not get bored. If he is tired, he still pushes himself until he can’t do it anymore.”
Christian is survived by his parents Gabriela and Gerardo Nava, his brother Noe Jovanni Nava,
his daughter Desiree Nava, his two nieces Jentry and Joleyn Nava, his uncle Martin Trujillo, and
cousins Adrian and Yared Vega.
