Christy L. Parkin

Christy L Parkin age 72 returned to the loving arms of her son and father on April 12, 2025 after a short battle with colon and breast cancer.

Mom was born on May 14, 1952 in Montpelier, ID to Frankie and Ray Larsen. She lived in Montpelier until she was in her high school years when the family moved to Logan, UT. She continued on to Ricks college until she was married and moved to Kamas, UT where she spent the next 22 years before her divorce and returning to Logan to finish out her life surrounded by her family.

While in Kamas, she spent countless hours collecting basketball cards with all the neighborhood boys and her son. She participated heavily in her three children’s lives, Brandi, Shaun, and Amberli between dance practices, basketball games, booster mom for drill team, choir concerts, plays, and helping all the neighborhood kids with little things. She actively supported her husband’s band, “Sage” going to many practices and performances where she met many lifelong friends. She was blessed to have her best friend live right next door with all their children being best friends to her children.

Mom loved kids. She spent many years caring for multiple kids at Miss Billy’s Daycare and being a nanny for 2 separate families that she cared deeply for. During her last days she was able to visit with one of the families which she was so thankful to reminisce through pictures and memories.

Mom was a giver – she would give every last penny she had to help someone if they needed it. She opened her home many times to people who needed a place to stay, someone to talk to, or to provide a meal. The majority of her years in Logan she had family living with her. When her grandkids came around, she spent countless hours babysitting, helping raise them, participating in their activities, and providing a fun place for them to go. She loved her grandchildren dearly. They were the light of her world.

Many people’s lives were touched by Mom’s caring and loving spirit. From cooking breads and cookie for the neighbors, garbage man, and friends to her commenting on everyone’s social media pictures with a Congratulations or Happy birthday. She was always everyone’s biggest cheerleader.

She is survived by her three children, Brandi (Damien) Babbitt, Shaun (Natasha) Parkin, and Amberli Misener; four grandchildren Brooke, DJ, Peydon, and Hayden; her mom Frankie Larsen, and 3 siblings Cathy (Gary) Smith, Bob (Cindy) Larsen, Drew (Julie) Larsen; and many many friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her oldest son, Jason; her father Ray John Larsen, and her dog Crush.

The family wants to send their gratitude and thanks to all those who cared for mom, sent dinners, flowers, and well wishes during her final days.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Mother’s Day, May 11th, 2025. What a better time to celebrate our MOM. Time and location to be announced.
