Curt Hoptry Sept. 9, 1966 to June 4,2017 Curt Hoptry lost his life on 6/4/17 as a result of a massive stroke.Curt was born 9/19/66 to David and Vickey (LaMont) Hoptry in Folsom, CA. He was the first of two children born to them. He graduated from Del Campo High School, Class of 1984. He then proudly served in the United States Military in the branch of the Army, as Military Police Officer. He was first stationed in Korea along the DMZ and finished his tour in Oakland, CA. Curt as a youth enjoyed participating in the scouting program. He loved anything that had wheels. He gave each of his vehicles a name and expected everyone to refer to them by that name. He had a varied collection of weapons that he was very proud of. Curt loved to learn. He claims to. “know a little bit about everything and not to much about anything.” He loved Children and animals and not necessarily in that order. He was a good mentor to all those who knew him. He had a great sense of humor. Curt had the memory like an elephant and would remind you of things you wished he forgotten. He was a good Son, Big Brother, Uncle and Friend. He was a source of strength to his family and friends. He would do anything for anyone. “Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved and missed and very dear. “He was preceded in death by his Father, and Maternal and Paternal Grandparents and Niece Debbie Craig. He is remembered by his Mother, Vickey (Lowell) Leiser, Sister, Doddie Camarillo, Sister, Christina (Billy) Plank, Deanna Leiser, Orendia (Brent) Wassom, Brother, Andrew Leiser, Sister, Saralyn Leiser,Brother, Kevin Leiser and Nieces and Nephews, Ryan Camarillo, Amanda LaMont, Elizabeth (Kasey) Beasley,Cheyenne Plank, Emily Plank, Trevis Leiser, Liam Vincent, Dillon Wassom and Owen Wassom. Services will be help on Monday, 6/12/17, at the Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints Stake Center, 245 N 750 E, Hyrum, Utah, 84319. A Viewing will be from 9:00am-10:30am and the Funeral Services will begin at 11:00am. Internment will be held at the Hyrum Cemetery.
