Daniel “Dano” Bruce Rigby
1989-2024
Daniel Bruce Rigby, age 34, resident of Logan,Utah, passed away in his home May 2, 2024. He
was born on October 4, 1989, in American Fork, UT to Spencer Bruce Rigby and Stacy Kaye
Hopkin. He has three sisters. Heather Lunan (30) Felicia Robinson (25) And Shayla Rigby (22)
Growing up, Daniel was happy and energetic with a great sense of humor. He loved to play
video games, listen to music, and spend time being a big brother to 3 younger sisters.
When Daniel was 9 years old he started having grand-mal seizures after getting into a bike
accident. These seizures would affect him for the rest of his life. Despite the difficulty of living
with frequent seizures, Daniel went through school and even though he did not graduate from
High School with his class, he worked hard on his own and surprised his parents with his
Diploma.
After graduating, he served an LDS service online mission at the MTC in Provo Utah. He was
so happy and proud to serve the Lord. After completing his mission he worked very hard doing
Church upholstery with his Dad. Daniel was a very hard worker, amd was determined to work at
something until he perfected it, and never complained about working long hours. He helped
upholster countless chapels across the United States and got to travel to many different places.
In 2016 Daniel moved to Cache Valley with his family and was able to attend Bridgerland
Technical College, excelling at learning and quickly fulfilling his graduation requirements in
2017. In 2019 Daniel hit his most exciting milestone. He was able to move out of his parents
house and get an apartment in Logan, Uaht and achieve the independence he had always
longed for by living on his own. A world of opportunity opened up to him as he was able to get a
dog, furnish his apartment, and enjoy long walks on his own. At this time he also joined the
Cache Valley Rock and Gem Club. He was so passionate about the club that he volunteered to
design the monthly club flyers. And despite spending a lot of time in out of hospitals,he regularly
left an impression on those he came in contact with, always joking and making doctors and
nurses laugh.
Daniel was a positive, passionate, and enthusiastic individual. He enjoyed many hobbies such
as playing guitar, photography, frisbee, and video games. He will be most remembered for his
sense of humor, his passion for crystals and rocks, and his perseverance through difficult times.
Daniel was always bruised and battered from his battle with having a seizure disorder. Despite
this, he was always very happy and never complained about the difficult circumstances that life
had put him through. He taught us that no matter the trials and pain you may be going through,
you can navigate life with a smile on your face and joy in your heart.
Daniel’s memory and strong spirit will continue to stay with us into eternity. He is survived by his
parents, Bruce and Stacy Rigby, as well as his three sisters, Heather (Joseph Lunan) Felicia
(Taylor Robinson) and Shayla Rigby.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 9th, at 2:00 PM at the Smithfield, UT cemetery.
The family appreciates your loving support and prayers.
Neither death nor life will separate us. We will see Dano again.
