Diana Lynne Fisher, 53, returned to her Heavenly Father on January 31, 2017. Diana was born on April 26, 1963 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Vean Robert II and Tonya (Kemp) Woodbrey, being the oldest of 16 children. She was diagnosed with Type I diabetes at the age of five, which she battled for 38 years. She was the recipient of a kidney/pancreas transplant in 2006, for which she was eternally grateful. As her organs were failing and she suffered from poor health, she pressed forward, working hard and doing those things she enjoyed, in spite of the pain she suffered. Diana graduated from Sky View High School in Smithfield, Utah and went on to earn her nursing degree (LPN) from Salt Lake Community College, where she was a member of the Biological Science Honor Society. She married Richard Barton Fisher on January 13, 1989. They were married 20 years when he died of lung cancer. Since she had no children, she doted on her two dogs, Rico and Cisco. Diana was an active member of the LDS Church. She was also a member of 4-H for 10 years and was a National winner in Wood Science. Diana loved hiking, paragliding, biking, crocheting, quilting, fishing, reading, ceramics, wild life, building, woodworking, and gardening. She made many quilts in her later years which she donated to many, including the Quilts of Valor. She spent her life serving others. If she heard of someone who needed something you could count on her to do all she could to meet their needs, even when she was suffering herself. She was loved by all who knew her. She was especially fond of gardening, planting a large garden for her family. She loved her flowers and planted many shade and fruit trees. Diana is known for the barn she built in her parents’ yard. Last year she painted quilt designs on the east and north sides. The design on the north side has lettering that says “Be an Organ Donor,” because this was so important to her. Diana loved her nieces and nephews and would help them plant things, find bugs with them, and do projects with them. She enjoyed making things for them.” Diana is survived by her parents, Vean and Tonya, 15 siblings, Tani Gaye Monson, Vicki Sue (Keith) Hambly, Vean Robert (Joell) Woodbrey III, Kimberli Anne (Alan) Robison, Kelly Troy (Jeanice) Woodbrey, Penny Kay (Sterling) Harris, Christopher Shane (Stephanie) Woodbrey, Robert Patrick (Linda) Woodbrey, Scott Cameron (Marianne) Woodbrey, Kandie Marie (Brian) Estes, Kevin Grant (Michelle) Woodbrey), Traci Dawn (Jay) Godfrey, Cody Lane (Alisa) Woodbrey, Kristi Lee (Brooks) Nielsen, and Brian Casey (Manoela) Woodbrey and 87 nieces and nephews, being predeceased by two nieces. Visitation will be held at the LDS Petersboro Ward building in Mendon (20 North 100 West) on Monday, February 6 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday February 7, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Funeral services will be held in the same location on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
