Doritt (Alayna) Huff Barben, 46, beloved wife, sister and friend, passed away Feb. 11, 2014, after a valiant battle with brain cancer and the effects of a stroke. She was surrounded by her husband, family and loved ones when she passed. She was born Oct. 29, 1967, in Grand Junction, Colo., to Sherrill and Eleanor Huff. She was married June 30, 2012, to the love of her life, Michael Keith Barben, in the Logan LDS temple. Alayna grew up in Richmond, Utah, and graduated from Sky View High School, where she took advantage of as many opportunities as she could to develop her talents in music and drama. After high school, she attended Eastern New Mexico University on a music scholarship and then continued her education at Utah State University. She served an LDS mission in Rome, Italy. When she returned, she finished her degree in Elementary Education at Utah State and taught for many years in the Box Elder County School District. She was beloved by her students and fellow teachers.She had a great love of the gospel and the scriptures and faithfully served in many church callings. She loved the Lord and her unfailing faith was an example to many. Her entire life was dedicated to love and service to others, and she was blessed with many wonderful friends. Alayna was preceded in death by both her parents and her brother Sherrill (Shell). She is survived by her husband, her sister Daela Huff of Smithfield, Utah, and her brother Benjamin Huff of Provo, Utah. She is also survived by her mother- and father-in-law, A. Keith and McVoy Barben of Marysvale, Utah, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws. Welter, Wood, Welling and Whipple.A funeral service honoring her life will be at noon Monday, Feb. 17, in the LDS chapel at 125 W. 600 North in Logan, Utah. Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, and at 10 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at the same location. Interment will follow the service at the Logan City Cemetery.
