Eldredge George Webb

February 28, 1934 — October 27, 2019

Eldredge George Webb passed away at home on October 27, 2019. Eldredge was born February 28, 1934 to Evy Ione Thomson and Jesse Ernest Webb. His early years were spent in Richmond, Utah, working on the family farm. Sadly, when Eldredge was just 9 years old, his father passed away suddenly and as a result the family relocated to Logan, Utah. Eldredge graduated from Logan High School. He began taking classes at Utah State and was just short of a Bachelor's degree when he met the love of his life, Betty LaRue Steggell. The two lovebirds were married June 4, 1955 and purchased their first and only home at 871 Hillcrest in Logan, where they would remain the rest of their lives. Eldredge and Betty were blessed with two beautiful, healthy children which he considered the most important blessings in his life. He was so very proud of their accomplishments in life and the people they had become.

He got his first job as a paperboy and worked his ay up the ladder to become the head pressman at the Herald Journal. He retired after 40+ years of working for this same company. He enjoyed spending time in the mountains, whether it was hiking, camping, riding motorbikes, or snowmobiles - as long as he had his family around him, he was at peace with the world. Eldredge and Betty's favorite place to sneak away to was the eastern foothills of the Teton Range. Many, many memories were made in the Jackson Hole Valley. He instilled the love of the mountains into both of his children, and all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. This is a treasured memory for all of them.

Eldredge served in the Elder's Quorum Presidency and also as a scout leader in the Logan 20th Ward. He was a high priest at the time of his passing. Eldredge was preceded in death by his much adored sweetheart, Betty, when she was suddenly called Home in September 2015. He has missed her terribly and visited her grave daily since her passing, leaving flowers, watering little pine trees that he placed on her grave. They had been together for over 60 years. He has stressed many times that the only thing he wanted was to "be with mom." Well, that day has finally come and what a celebration and joyous reunion they must be having.

He leaves behind his daughter, Kris Kent, her husband Robert, St. George, Utah, and his son, De, and his wife Bev, Smithfield, Utah. He was so very proud of each one of his grandchildren as well. They are Malinda Murray, North Carolina, Mitzi (Nate) Buck, Draper, Utah, Brittany (Josh) Woytko, Smithfield, Utah, Jesse (Liz) Webb, Smithfield, Utah, and Mackenzie Webb, Smithfield.

He had no shortage of pride where his great-grandchildren were concerned. So proud of each of their special abilities. Carter, Annie, Avery, Owen, Kaden, Jordann, Kingston, and Riley.

His quick wit and crazy sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
