Estella Gene Randall Hatch, long time resident of Richmond, Utah, passed away on September 20, 2024, at 90 3/4 years old, at Autumn Care assisted living in Hyde Park, Utah, from dementia and declining health issues.
Estella was born November 6, 1933, in Preston, Idaho, to William Leon Randall, and Thelma Hunter Randall. She was an only child for 8 years, then she got a little brother. She wasn’t too happy at first, as she liked getting all the attention! She was only 9 ½ years old when her mother passed away from cancer. She never got over the hurt of losing her mother. Her dad married Sadie Crossman a few months later, and they soon added another brother and 6 sisters.
Estella had many interesting stories of her growing up years. She attended school in Preston, Idaho, and married Clyde Ray Hatch on May 11, 1951, in the Logan temple.
Mom was a very talented lady. While raising her 5 kids and serving in many church callings, she worked in the dental field, and was a talented dental assistant. She then went to beauty school, and worked for 15 years doing hair from her home in Richmond. She later went back to working as a dental assistant, which was her first love. After her family was grown and she had retired, she was always taking flowers, meals, and checking on many in her ward. She went to the homes of many ladies who couldn’t get out, and did their hair for them. She loved to be busy. She also loved gardening and yard work, and raised a beautiful vegetable garden and many flowers.
Mom and dad worked hard together. They were happy and had a good life. She is survived by their 5 children and their spouses: Kirt Hatch (Kim) of Trenton, Utah, Cidney Hatch Escareno (Antonio) of Clarkston, Utah, Diane Hatch Hawkins (Scott) of Logan, Utah, Russell Hatch (Mitzi) of Blackfoot, Idaho, Marty Hatch (Tiffany) of Preston, Idaho. She had 25 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, with 15 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sweetheart Clyde, who has been gone for 15 years, her mother Thelma, who has been gone for 80 years, and her dad Bill (William) who has been gone for 48 years. She is survived by her siblings: William Leon Randall, jr. (Pam) of McCammon, Idaho, Sadie Leone Madsen (Evert - deceased) of Inkom, Idaho, Ronald Leon Randall (Nancy) of Preston, Idaho, Sally Randall Millsap of Gallatin, Tennessee, Kathryn Randall Fellows (Dennis) of Riverdale, Utah, Patricia Randall Dimond (Larimer) of Kaysville, Utah, Nancy Randall Lowe (Craig - deceased) of Franklin, Idaho, Carol Randall Dahle (Allan - deceased) of North Logan, Utah.
Mom had one older, and many younger cousins. She loved them and always had a good story to tell about her aunts and uncles. As a young lady she went to live with Marion and Velma Bell and their 2 boys, Ron Bell (Faye) of Smithfield, Utah, and Tony Bell (Bev) of Avondale, Arizona. She loved them as her own, and it was Velma who helped settle her down a little. Velma also helped in getting mom and dad introduced.
Mom had many dogs all of her life, starting with her dog Fanny, who was her best friend after her mom was gone, and many, many more dogs to follow. She was a horse lover, and enjoyed sheep as well.
