Fernando Alberto Martínez, 79, of Santa Ana, El Salvador, passed away on August 7, 2023, in Logan, Utah surrounded by his family.
A viewing is scheduled for 11:00 am on Friday, August 11, at Cache Valley Mortuary, 80 West 4200 North in Hyde Park, Utah.
Burial will follow at Smithfield City Cemetery.
Fernando was born in Santa Ana, El Salvador to Teresa Chávez y Rodrigo Martínez on September 8, 1943. He graduated from Instituto Francisco Menéndez in San Salvador. He married the love of his life: Ana on October 1, 1971, in Sonsonate, El Salvador. He worked as a drafter for the General Direction of Urbanism and Architecture in El Salvador for 25 years. He migrated to the United States with his wife in 1985 where he was later reunited with his daughters and grandkids. Fernando was a photography enthusiast and loved to capture family and friends’ special occasions through pictures.
Fernando is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Ana Martínez, daughters: Claudia Martínez, Verónica Martínez (Prakash), and Pámela Valenzuela (Néstor), sisters: Cecilia Tejada and Patricia Chávez, grandkids: Nancy Márquez (Francisco), Marvin Martínez, Irene Valenzuela, and Fernando Valenzuela, great grandkids: Lucas Márquez and Oliva Márquez.
