Francis Newbrand Smith

Francis Newbrand Smith, 83 our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend passed away at Birch Creek assisted living in Smithfield, Utah with her family at her side.

Francis was born February 28, 1941 in Logan ,Utah to Mae and Lester Newbrand of Hyrum,Ut.
She had a happy childhood and attended schools locally, she graduated from South Cache high school in 1959.

Francis married Warren Smith they were married for 35 years at the time of his passing. They were sealed in 1999 in the LDS Temple in Logan, Utah.

Francis worked at Schreibers cheese in Logan,Utah for 25 years she took great pride in her work and loved giving cheese away to family and friends. After she retired she went back to work at Walmart as a greeter for many years she always had a big smile and a friendly  “Welcome to Walmart!”


Francis loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She always had a special place in her heart for all of her pets and even the strays in the neighborhood found her as well. She was a very kind soul.

Francis is survived by her children  Phil and Melanie Reid , Logan, Robert and Amy , Hyrum,  6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was Proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Warren Smith, a son  Ronald Talbot,a daughter Allison Smith, a son Kevin Smith, a daughter Kathleen Herschi Knight and 2 brothers Paul and Jerry Newbrand.

On Saturday August 24,2024 a viewing will be from 1-2 pm and Small service from 2-3 pm at the Cache Valley Mortuary 710 W. 500 N, Hyde Park,Utah.
