Gary Lynn Quigley was born in Salt Lake City on May 13th, 1959 to Blaine and Barbara Quigley. Gary was the second youngest of six children. As a young man he engaged and excelled in many activities including running and Scouting, of which he reached the rank of Eagle. Always excelling in school, he graduated from East High School in 1977. He then served an LDS mission in Osono Chile. When he returned home he joined the United states Marine Corps.Shortly after joining the USMC he was stationed in Memphis Tennessee, where he met the love of his life Martha Lou Howell. on September 1, 1981 they were married in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple for time and all eternity. Together they had 4 children; Paula (Kemp) Phelps, Benjamin (Megan) Quigley, James Allen (Mignon) Quigley, and Stephanie (Byron) Lovan; and traveled across the nation, and world, until he retired from the United States Marine Corps in 2001.After retiring from the military, he and Martha moved to Layton Utah and settled in working on Hill Air Force Base for the last 15 years. He is preceded in death by his father Blaine H. Quigley, brother-in-law Terry Despain, and sister-in-law Alice Quigley.He is survived by his wife Martha Lou Howell Quigley; his daughter Paula Phelps and husband Kemp their children Ashton (12), Landon (10), Sammi (7) and Charlie (5); his son Benjamin Quigley and wife Megan their children Charles (4) and James (1); James Allen Quigley his wife Mignon their children Tyra (11), Ella (8), and Mary (1); and his daughter Stephanie Lovan and husband Byron their children Brooklynn (5) and Sterling (3). He is also survived by his mother, Barbara Quigleyand siblings: Paul (Diane) Quigley, Jean (Lowell) Leffler, Helen (Bruce) Balls, Ruth (Craig) Hawe and Keith (Debbie) Quigley.Viewing for Gary will be held 6-8 pm Thursday February 16, 2017. The funeral will be Friday February 17th at 11:00am with additional viewing hours before the funeral at 9:30am. Funeral and viewings to be held at the LDS meetinghouse at 2680 East Cherry Lane Layton Utah 84040.Final military honors will be held at the Ben Lomond Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
