Glenna Lucille Godfrey Anderson Balls Lamb returned home to her Heavenly Father on June 15, 2014 surrounded by her family in Hyde Park Utah at the age of 85. She was born the 8th of September 1928 in Clarkston Utah to Elwin and Vivien Godfrey. She was the fifth of nine children. Glenna spent her childhood on the farm in Clarkston where she learned to appreciate the value of hard work humor and a good prank. These values have been a constant throughout her life.She married Lynn Anderson in February 1945, Lynn and Glenna began married life in Nibley where they built a house together. They lived there until Lynn’s work took them to the power plant at Second Dam. Upon Lynn’s death in 1957, Glenna moved down to the island in Logan with her two small children.Glenna married Dale Balls in June of 1958. Glena and Dale lived in Logan for a few years before moving to Hyde Park. Dale loved to coach softball and Glenna was always on the sidelines. They enjoyed countless fishing, camping and hunting trips together. Glenna did seasonal work at Del Monte packing company before becoming a full-time employee for Logan Knitting Mills where she worked for many years. Dale passed away in1975 after which Glenna began work at USU where she worked until she retired. In 1979 she married Blain Lamb. For a number of years, she and Blain raced quarter horses and cutter teams. He passed away in 2004. Glenna was an avid gardener and delighted in the time she spent taking care of her flowers and immaculate yard. She enjoyed all types of hand work and was an expert seamstress, her hands were never idle. Her entire family benefited greatly from these talents, She was an active member of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints and Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Mom had a huge heart and the special ability to make every one around her feel loved and cared about. She was a Grandma’s Grandma and her grandchildren’s biggest fan. She was never happier then when she was spending time with her family and little dog Patches.She is survived by her four children Thomas (Mary) Anderson of Logan, Carol (Joseph) Perkes, LeRoy (Peggy) Balls of Hyde Park and Tena (Kyle) Godfrey of Clarkston, 25 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren with one more to come in September. She is also survived by one sister LuDean Jacobson of Preston Idaho. She was preceded in death by her husband’s Lynn, Dale and Blaine, three brothers and four sisters Eulala Simper, Leon Godfrey, Wanda Jacobson, Darrell Godfrey, Ed Godfrey, Vivien and Joyce Godfrey and one grandson T.L. Anderson. We would like to express our thanks and gratitude to Dr. Mark Firth, Access Hospice nurses and aids for the loving help and concern they showed to our mother and to usFuneral Service will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, June 19 at the Hyde Park 5th Ward Chapel 63 East Center Hyde Park, UT (center street Church) with Bishop Phil Hale conducting. A viewing will be held on Wednesday June 18 from 6-8 pm at the same address and from 10:30 – 11:30 the morning of the 19th prior to the service. Interment will be at the Millville Cemetery.
