Hal Nephi Lundberg, 76, passed away July 21, 2016, at Logan Regional Hospital. Hal was born May 14, 1940 to Norman and Deana Lundberg in Logan, Utah. He was the youngest of three children.Hal graduated from North Cahe High in 1958. Hal met Rayna Obray from Paradise, Utah. They were married May 17, 1963. From their marriage two sons were born Joel and Kip. They made their home in Smithfield, Utah and have been married for 53 years.He started work as a brick tender and then became a brick layer which he did for many years. He also worked for Cache County Schools in the maintenance department, where he worked from 1986 until retiring in 2002. He loved the kids at Sky View High and got to know many of them by name.Hal enjoyed racing horses and flying homing pigeons, which he did for many years. He most of all adored his family and was a great supporter of his sons in their various sporting events. When his granddaughters came along he loved taking them on trips and they are were the apple of his eye. Hal was also fortunate enough to get to know his great grandsons, who were always able to put a smile on his face.Hal is survived by his wife, Rayna; and two sons, Joel of Smithfield and Kip (Michelle) of Preston, Idaho. Two granddaughters, K’Lee (Justin) Garza, Smithfield and McKinnley Lundberg, Preston Idaho, and two great-grandsons, Jace and Kyrie Garza, Smithfield, Utah. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Royce and Doyle Lundberg, sister-in-law Lorraine and nephew Nyle.A gathering of family and friends will be held Tuesday July 26, 2016 at 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at the Smithfield 24th Ward Chapel, 451 South 250 East Smithfield, Utah. A memorial service is to follow at the Smithfield Cemetery at 12:00 noon. Services are under the direction of Cache Valley Mortuary (435)-787-8514, 3207 North Main North Logan Ut.
