Hokan Hokanson (21) of Logan, Utah, returned to his Heavenly Father on January 1st, 2014. Hokan was born on May 4th, 1992 in Logan Utah to John and Terri(Larsen) Hokanson. Hokan is the first-born of five siblings in the Hokanson family.Hokan lived his life in Logan Utah, Star Valley and Sheridan Wyoming. Hokan entered this world with a quiet nature and developed a thoughtful, deep thinking personality. As Hokan grew, his dry wit grew with him and he enjoyed conversing with family and friends on a variety of subjects. Hokan had a deep interest and ability in all things math, science and particularly technology related. When any specific interest developed, Hokan would pursue it relentlessly, gaining a deep knowledge of many things. Hokan had a special talent for computers and programming. He built his first web server out of spare computer parts at the age of 14. Hokan spent the majority of his childhood years in the mountains of Star Valley, Wyoming where he came to develop a real appreciation for the beauty of this world. He spent many hours taking photos and enhancing them, of course, on his laptop computer. Hokan also learned to play the cello while attending school in Star Valley and played his way from elementary school through high school. Hokan also taught himself to play the guitar and the ukulele and aspired to pick up the saxaphone next. Hokan shared his love of music with his family and everyone's playlists now include a few of Hokan's favorites. Hokan attended Star Valley High School until the end of his junior year, when his family moved to Sheridan, Wyoming. Hokan did IT work for his high school in Star Valley and with the move to Sheridan, Hokan's skills and interest in programming increased. He completed programming and networking courses through the Sheridan Community College and completed a programming internship as part of his senior year of high school. Upon graduation, internship turned quickly to full time employment and Hokan worked on websites and aps and enjoyed every minute of his work. Hokan briefly attended Utah State University and found employment working, of course, within the computer industry. Hokan was well respected by colleagues and enjoyed helping others. Hokan kept his family in computers and up to date with all the latest technology. His family and friends will miss his thoughtfulness, his sense of humor and his sincere and caring nature. To know Hokan was to love him.Hokan is survived by his parents, John and Terri Hokanson and four siblings. Sarah(19), Rebecca(17), Lars(14) and Jens(7).
