Jean Anderson Parker, 76, passed away July 31, 2017, in her home, in Millville, Utah, surrounded by her family, after a difficult battle with a rare form of Cancer. Jean was born on December 5, 1940, in Logan, Utah. She was the second daughter of Nephi and Ellen Anderson, of Millville. Jean was a precocious child skipping the 1st grade at Millville Elementary and continuing with high marks through all her years of schooling. She graduated as co-salutatorian from South Cache High School in Hyrum, UT in May of 1958, where she had been President of the Amico Fidelis Club, Vice President of the FHA, attendant to the Sweetheart Ball Queen, Junior Prom Queen, and Hi-Queen. She attended Utah State University on a Scholarship for a year. Jean met, and then married Gordon LeGrande Parker on Oct. 23, 1959 in the Logan LDS Temple. Gordon passed away in May 2003. They were blessed with five children, 22 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. Jean worked as a clerk for the US Postal Service beginning in 1974 and became the Millville Postmaster in January of 1980. She enjoyed getting to know and serving the residence of Millville. She retired on September 30, 2005. She had many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, including Stake Relief Society Secretary, Relief Society President and Teacher, Mutual and Primary Counselor, Sunday School, Mutual and Primary. She lived a life of Service, caring for many ailing loved ones in her home, making bread and meals for others, always quilting, sewing, or doing projects to help someone else. She enjoyed traveling, reading, making scrapbooks and spending time with her family. She was accomplished in many ways, but she would say that her greatest achievement in life was being a Mother and Grandmother.Jean is survived by her sister, Joyce (Don) Murray of Richmond; sister-in-law Cathy Anderson of Millville, her four daughters and one son, Sherry (Dale) Willden of Millville, Craig (Julie) Parker of Millville, Janice (Patrick) Holman of Pleasant Grove, Michelle (Michael) Bair of Millville, and Tiffiny (Owen “Skeeter”) Jensen of Millville. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her brother Don (Cathy) Anderson of Millville, and a granddaughter, Cassie Dawn Holman. Funeral services will be held at noon, Monday, August 7, 2017, in the Millville LDS Chapel, 110 S. Main. The viewing will be held Sunday evening from 6 – 8 pm at the Millville Chapel and again on Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 am.
