Our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend Jeannette Kehr Rigby (54) passed away suddenly on November 16, 2023. Her family and friends are heartbroken. In our quiet hearts are hidden sorrow that the eye can’t see. She was the keeper of her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband Randy Rigby, children Sabrina (Ryan) Meredith, Brandy (Kris) Saunders, and Steven (Tiera) Rigby, her 13 grandchildren, her parents Dana and Nancy Kehr, her siblings: Jason (Joyce) Kehr, Jonathon (Summer) Kehr, Jeremy (Janet) Kehr, Jessica (Paul) Judd, Jocelyn Kehr, Jolene (Drew) Thayer, and Jake Kehr, numerous beloved nieces and nephews, beloved aunts and uncles, and numerous cousins. She is pre-ceded in death by her loving grandparents, her grandchildren Braxton Saunders and Hailey Saunders.
She was born October 31, 1969 in Provo, Utah to Nancy Ricks and Dana Lloyd Kehr. She was the first of eight children. She was the first granddaughter for both sides of the Kehr and Ricks family and was well adored. Her Aunt Cheryl especially loved Jeannette and they had a special bond. As a child she lived in Provo, Williamsport, PA, Hardin, MT and Puyallup, WA. She loved to talk, cook, teach new things to others, to sing, and most of all to laugh.
She served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Ogden, Utah mission. She loved the area so much she returned to Logan for college courses and studied at Utah State University where she met Randy while he was driving the bus she rode to campus. She found out later he was taking other team-member’s shifts and routes so that he could see and talk to her. They were sealed in the Seattle temple in 1994. They have spent their lives in Newton, UT. She loved her ward, friends, and family in Newton. She will be dearly missed.
She worked for many friends and family giving child-care for many years. Most of those years for her grandchildren with medical needs. She returned to college in her late 40’s and recently received her bachelor’s degree by following the Pathways program and then received a degree from Brigham Young University – Idaho. She had been working for the last few years as a social worker and providing after-school care and education for children in Smithfield. She loved her work, she loved her co-workers, friends and especially the children.
She will be remembered for her kind acts and loving words. She will be remembered as a “child whisperer”. She loved them and they loved her. She would want us all to be a little more kind to our little ones and a little more kind to each other.
