Jerald Dean Purser (Jerry), passed away, April 14, 2018 at Legacy House in Logan. He was born November 5, 1931 in Logan, Utah to Delbert and Elva Anna (Seeholzer) Purser. He grew up attending Logan schools and one year at USU where he enjoyed football, basketball, track, snow skiing, and ice skating. He later married his sweetheart, Mae Facer on April 17, 1953 in the Logan LDS Temple. Four months later he went to boot camp in Fort Ord, CA. He was later sent to Germany from 1953 to 1955. He retired as assistant fire marshal at USU. Jerry was a very loving and social person and was loved by many. Some of his hobbies were fishing, hunting, golf, and fast pitch softball. He is survived by his wife Mae; his 6 children, Steven (Carrie), David (Connie), Del Ray (Melanie), Kent (Terie), Leann (Bob) Buttars, Ned (Roberta); 22 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren; also his sister Colleen Peterson.He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, Jesse Peterson; sister-in-law, Coy Elsmore, and Ann Facer and in-laws, Ray and Aleen Facer.We would like to thank all the staff at Legacy House and Intermountain Hospice for the loving care they gave to our Father. Also, Cache Valley Mortuary staff for their compassionate service. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 20, 2018 at noon in the LDS Church, 79 East 200 South, Smithfield. Viewing will be held from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, April 19 and from 10 am to 11:30 am prior to service, both at the church.
