Joseph Robert (Bob) Thalman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on November 11, 2024, at the age of 91. He was born on September 28, 1933, in Logan, Utah, to Robert Joseph Thalman and Mary Magdalene Lehman. Bob was raised on the family farm in Young Ward, where he learned the values of hard work and dedication.
Bob married Karren LaRae Chambers on February 25, 1955, and together they raised eight children: Michael, Russell, Jerry, Dean (passed as an infant), Bryan, JoAnn, Wendy, and Paula. He was later sealed to Karren in the Logan Temple on January 7, 1984. Over the years, Bob became a loving patriarch of a large family, with nearly 27 grandchildren and around 62 great-grandchildren.
A proud veteran, Joe served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and earned a National Defense Service Medal for his service in an active combat zone. After his military service, he worked for 21 years as a warehouse foreman at Hill Air Force Base and contributed to various defense and nuclear projects across the United States.
Bob's life was marked by his unwavering faith, humor, and love for his family. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his siblings Ruth, Deloy, John, and Gary. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Ernest, Donna May, and MaryLou as well as his son Dean.
A private service will be held to honor Bob’s life and legacy. The family is grateful for all the love and support shown during this difficult time.
