Joyce Bateman Fenwick passed away the morning of April 3rd, 2024, in Cody Wyoming, surrounded by family.
As a leap-year baby, she had the opportunity to celebrate her 19th birthday this year. Joyce was born in American Fork, Utah on February 29th, 1948 to Frank Thayne Bateman and Louise Hayward. She was the middle of 5 children.
Joyce attended College of Southern Utah (now Southern Utah University) and earned a Bachelors Degree in Education. Several years later she met Monty Ray Fenwick and they were married and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in 1983.
Joyce was friendly and kind, she knew the names of every person that lived in the care center where she resided.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and younger brother and sister, Brad Bateman and Jean Bath. She is survived by her two sons: Sterling (Erika) and Preston (Alisha) and seven grandchildren: Cami, Rabeca, Austin, Brandon, Natalie, Daniel, and Brooklynne. Along with her two older sisters Margaret Vance and Ruth Bateman.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 8th in Farmington, Utah at 11:00 am at 729 Shepard Ln, Farmington, UT 84025. She will be buried next to her husband in the Farmington, Utah cemetery. Donations can be made in her memory to the Utah Cancer Center.
