When one door closes, another opens… The Earthly door has closed, and heaven’s doors welcomed Justin Quinton Wilson, 41, back with open arms on October 21, 2022, in Preston, Idaho. He was born on April 14, 1981, to Robert Knox and Marsha Gilbert Wilson in Brigham City, UT.
Although gone too soon from this life, there was not one person that Justin didn’t touch with his heartfelt love, witty jokes, wisdom, and undoubted dedication. He went out of his way to make sure family, friends, and clients knew just how special they were and that he cared. He was always thinking of ways to make someone feel important. Whether it was coordinating his tie choice with a client’s favorite color, working hard to make sure his family had everything they ever needed or wanted, or just cracking a joke with a smile to brighten a friend’s or stranger’s day. He always thought of others and how he could truly make their lives just a little bit brighter. He was one to send a random text to let someone know he was thinking about them or the latest funny meme (he had a collection for every occasion) to make them smile. He loved to come up with the funniest or most thoughtful gifts for someone on their birthday or special occasions.
There was not one day that went by when Justin didn’t put others first before himself. This led him to be a graveside technician and eventually pursue his calling in life as a Funeral Director. He treated every family as he would want to be treated and did anything he could to ease their burdens. He was amazing at what he did and put his whole heart into his work. He showed up every day hoping to change lives for the better. He loved the positive impact he made on those he served at Cache Valley Mortuary.
Justin was the second youngest of six children and grew up in Corinne, UT. He loved the family farm and always wanted to follow in his dad’s footsteps and run the farm one day. He was always up for an adventure. He loved spending time outdoors, especially with his five boys. They would take a trip every winter to find and cut down the perfect Christmas tree and spent numerous fishing trips to ‘help’ his son complete his Senior Project (even though he may have used it as an excuse). He enjoyed riding motorcycles, the ocean and mountain air, and was always looking for the next “good deal” on old cars.
He met his soul mate, Spring Skinner Roche on a camping trip with friends in 2001 and they have been inseparable ever since. They recently celebrated their 20-year Anniversary in September. Their love for each other only grew stronger through the years and you could be sure that he would make sure everyone knew how much he adored her. They were blessed with five incredible boys and a beautiful baby girl that gained her angel wings before entering this world. His family was his everything. Each of his kids brought him so much joy and happiness. He loved holding each new life and was so proud to be their father.
Losing Justin has left an unbearable hole in our hearts; we will miss his extreme love of family, his stubbornness, and his quick wit.
Justin is survived by his soul mate, Spring Wilson; children, Hazen, Deakon, Rendor, Lyrek, and Lejend; parents, Robert and Marsha Wilson; siblings, Sonja (Lynn) Chugg, Jason (Katherine) Wilson, Carmen (Todd) Gillies, Amanda Marin, Jody (Tommy) Hood, and bonus brother, Colby (McKenzie) Beard, along with many nieces and nephews. Not to mention all those he touched along the way.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and beautiful daughter, Truce.
Justin always went against the grain and instead of a traditional Funeral, there will be an ‘Un-funeral’; a memorial of life, at Franklin County Funeral Home in Preston, Idaho on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11am. Bring your favorite memory and a snack to share. If you wish, wear anything purple, Dallas Cowboys, or even a favorite Halloween costume. No need for dress and ties, but you are welcome to do so. He wanted everyone to be happy and comfortable and remember that life is a treasure and death is not a goodbye.
