Karen Goodey Kent, 76, passed away July 6, 2017. She was born July 27, 1940 in Logan, Utah. Her nickname growing up was "Bubbles" due in part to her bubbly and outgoing personality. Karen was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She had a strong testimony of and love for her Savior, Jesus Christ, and served in various callings and leadership positions within the church over the years. Karen loved being a mother and grandmother with all her heart and enjoyed supporting her children and grandchildren with school, church, community, and sports related activities. She often knew as much about the sports and the games as the coaches and referees/umpires! Karen worked for Vought, LTV and Lockheed Martin doing contracts with the defense industry – most notable was the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) which was used in Operation Desert Storm. While serving in this position, she had the privilege of hosting foreign dignitaries and officials. Karen had a deep love for music and enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She also loved sewing and cooking, and was an excellent homemaker. She followed most professional sports teams in the Dallas area, but was most of all an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Karen is deeply loved by her family and will be greatly missed, but we know we will see her again one day and that families are truly forever. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dallas Thomas Goodey and Sybil Goodey, and sister Rhonda Goodey. Karen is survived by her children, Jon David Schoen and wife Mindy, Michael Dee Schoen and wife Nancy, and Krista Danielle Kent; grandchildren, Randall Flowers, Courtney Lewis, Carley Ferguson, David Lee Schoen, Dallas Schoen, Spencer Schoen, Cassidy Schoen, Jon Andrew Schoen, and Savannah Schoen; great grandchildren, Caleb Flowers, Cruze Lewis and Cozette Lewis; siblings, Maryanne Gardner, Myrna Degriselles, Merle Cornish, Jane Sparks and Garth Goodey; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
