Kathryn Poppleton Fuhriman (78) passed away on January 3, 2023 after an extended illness. She was born January 28, 1944 in Logan Utah, the second of five children born to Don Eugene Poppleton and Virginia Bitters. She was raised primarily in Wellsville and some of her happiest years were spent there, riding her horse and working on her family’s farm.
She attended Floridale Elementary in Wellsville and graduated from South Cache High School in 1962, where she met the love of her life, Blaine Lee Fuhriman.
She worked at Thiokol, North American Aviation in California, and Utah State University. She put Blaine through school and then stayed home to raise their six children. Kathryn’s whole world revolved around her home and her family and for the rest of her life this was her focus. But her second love was family history work and she spent many, many years gathering genealogical records for both her and Blaine’s Family. She put together and wrote numerous life stories and family histories and told a wonderful story herself.
She and Blaine were married In the Logan Temple February 1, 1963; sixty years of marriage that brought 6 children, 30 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren with one on the way.
She served in many callings and auxiliaries in the church throughout her life, even those that were difficult for someone as reserved as her. She served four LDS missions with Blaine; 2 on the Church Deseret Ranch in Florida, and 2 short missions; one in California and one in Texas.
Kathryn is survived by her husband, Blaine, her son, Eric (Bonnie) Fuhriman, daughter, Lisa (Keith) Larsen, son, Mike (Jen) Fuhriman, daughter, Launa (Matt) Weston, son, Brett (Mandi) Fuhriman, and daughter, Lea Anderson along with 28 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
