L. John Tillotson –73 of Trenton passed away peacefully April 3, 2023 and is having an amazing reunion with his beautiful bride.
Dad was the oldest child of Marvin & Bessie Tripp Tillotson being born in Logan on June 14, 1949. John grew up in Trenton and was part of “The Trenton Outlaws”. John met the love of his life Vonda Kay Buttars and was married and later sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple. Together they raised 4 wonder children: Christie, Shane, Gloria & Ryan.
Dad worked many years for DFA and then Schreiber foods, making lifelong friends while there. He was always up for a good motorcycle or car ride. He loved the outdoors and went on many camping trips. Dad and Mom loved going to Jackson. Bar J was always a guarantee in the summer. Spending time with the grandkids and even being one himself was a favorite pass time for all. The grandkids never knew if they could believe the story he was telling them because he was an ‘amazing story teller’.
Dad had a love of history and influenced a lot of youth while going on trek and also youth camps.
Dad had a very adventurous bucket list that he was able to check everything off, climbing the Teton’s, and finishing up with a Hot Air Balloon ride.
Dad is proceeded in death by his loving wife Vonda, parents, and brother Randy. He is survived by his children: Christie (Bob) Williams, Shane (Kristen), Gloria (Jeremy) Hunt, Ryan (Tracee). 30 Grandkids and 21 Great Grand Kids. Siblings: LuDean(Hans) Parkins, Lisa Allison, Laura Burkman, Bev(Leo)Daley, Loren (Zerella) Buttars, Peggy (Mike) Dorigatti, and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a viewing on Thursday Apr 6th 6-8pm at Cache Valley Mortuary 80 W 4200 N, Hyde Park. Funeral Services will take place at 11am on Friday April 7th at the Trenton/Cornish LDS Chapel 1200 N 400 W. Trenton with a viewing prior to the service from 10-10:45. Internment will be in the Trenton, Utah Cemetery.
