Landell Toolson was born Dec. 28, 1924, in Logan, Utah, to Richard and Gertrude Toolson, longtime residents of Smithfield, Utah. Landell graduated from the University of Texas on a government scholarship as he was the only one in his high school to pass the qualifying test and physical.
He met Wylene Millet in Los Angeles while attending USC dental school, and they were married Feb. 17, 1950. They started married life in Brigham City, Utah, but moved to San Diego, CA, in 1951 when Landell was called into the service. Landell set up his dental practice in San Diego, and they stayed the rest of their lives. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, his garden was always a source of pride and envy, and he enjoyed traveling with friends and family. His eternal companion, Wylene, passed away 10 years ago.
Landell is survived by his six children, 23 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
