Larene “Rene” Cox, 69, of Millville, Utah, returned to her heavenly home on April 24, 2017, after battling various illnesses for several years. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in a loving Heavenly Father and her Savior, Jesus Christ, sustained her through her struggles and, ultimately, gave her peace. Larene was born to the late Louis Quinn and Edna Alice (Allen) Plowman in Logan, Utah, on May 26, 1947. Larene had a great love for her country and, particularly, Cache Valley. From a young age she was always in the service of others in her church, her community, and, especially, her family. She is a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in many callings and, primarily, loved serving with her husband in the nursery, being his home teaching companion for over 20 years, and their most recent calling with the special needs mutual. Larene was sealed to her best friend and eternal companion, Earl Dee Cox, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on October 22, 1966. After 8 years of struggling to have children she was finally able to fulfill her life-long dream of becoming a mother, and is a proud parent of three children. Larene was a light and joy to all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Larene was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Alan, and her brother-in-law Ted Seeholzer. She is survived by her husband Earl, her sister-in-law Margaret (Alan) Plowman, her sisters Marge (Ted) Seeholzer, Janis (Jon) Chutich, Julie (Larry) Johnson, her daughter Shari (Richard) Gordon, her sons Dave (Aimee) Cox, Richard (Brittany) Cox, her four beloved grandchildren Emma Gordon, Ashley Rasmussen (Cox), Briton Rasmussen (Cox), Lauren Cox, and many extended family and friends. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017, at 11 AM in the Millville LDS Chapel located at 110 S. Main, Millville, Utah. Viewings will be held Friday, April 28, 2017, from 6-8 PM and Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the church. Interment will be in the Millville Cemetery. There will also be a luncheon at the church following the interment for family and close friends. Services are under the direction of Cache Valley Mortuary, (435)-787-8514.
