February 16, 1951 to January 8, 2025

He lived! He laughed! He loved! With the passing of LaRon J Godfrey age 73, better know as RON . He is finally free from the bonds of his rare lung disease and other health complications. Ron was born on February 16, 1951 the second of seven children born to Jesse Godfrey and Dorreen Sperry. He grew up in Trenton, Smithfield and Clarkston. Ron learned to work hard and fast growing up on a farm and milking cows. Ron was a faithful member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints. He served faithfully in many callings, Cub Master, Weblos, Ward Clerk , Ward history specialist, Sunday School teacher, Stake Missionary, Temple ordinance worker and his favorite calling was as a primary teacher. 

He loved those he taught. He served a mission in the Pacific Northwest mission from 1970-1972. When he came home he was put in as the young adult leader. That is where he meet his sweet heart Ann Warner. Marring her on June 15, 1973 in the Logan Temple . Ron was adventurous, and loved inventing things to make life easier. He invented a skate board before skate boards were a thing with a flat board and wheels off of a roller skate. He also designed and invented farming equipment. He taught himself to ride unicycle, And he loved walking around Clarkston on his 10 foot high stilts. He learned to play the accordion and was self taught in gymnastics. Ron loved hunting, fishing and sports, anything to do with the outdoors.

Ron worked many jobs: he farmed, sugar factory, Lazy boy, laying carpet, maintenance at Logan Regional Hospital. He was a Volunteer fireman for forty years, EMT for 8 years, He served on the Clarkston city council for 4 years. Most of all he loved serving and helping others. He is survived by his wife Ann of 51 1⁄2 years, children :Tracy, LaDawn (Dan)Rowe , Jerry, Jay (Traci). He loved and adored and would do anything for his Eleven grandchildren; Kiersten, Ian, Will, Damian, Jaden, Kelcie, Andrew, Nadia, Wyatt, Ty and Miquelin. And 7 great grandchildren. Siblings Norman (Vicky), sister in law Elizabeth, Kim (Ann), Connie (Duffy)Mcfarland, Bonnie (Gordon)Mendekol and Terry (Carrrie). Sister and Brother in laws Paula (Corwin)Johnson , Gary (Rhonda)Warner, Betty (Franklin) Harriott, Ruby (Tony )Douglass. Ron was proceeded in Death by his brother Wayne, Parents Jesse and Dorreen, In laws David and Jean Warner, Brother and sister in Law David and Terri Warner.

Special thanks to Aegis Hospice for all those who came and helped and a special thanks to Ron's nurse Bekah. Advantage medical for the many trips to bring oxygen and other things to him. Thanks to Cache Valley Mortuary for there care and service.

Viewing will be held on January 16 in the Smithfield 24th Ward, 451 S 250 E, Smithfield,  Utah from 6 to 8 Funeral same place on Jan 17, 2025 viewing 9:30 to 10:30, Funeral at 11 a.m.
