Larry Buttars

Our brother, Larry Morris Buttars, returned to the loving arms of his parents, Guy Layne and Afton Stoddard Buttars, on December 19, 2017.Larry was born August 21, 1953 in Logan, Utah. He was the sixth of nine children.He was educated at Park Elementary, North Cache, and Sky View High.Larry had various jobs growing up. He worked longest at the cheese plant in Richmond, Ut and LeGrand Johnson Construction in Logan, Ut.He enjoyed many things in his life from riding the horses with the neighbors, hunting, and of course playing pool at L.D.’s Café in Richmond and looked forward to the Saturday games at the White Owl, “you guys will start winning a few now.” Many Sundays were spent golfing with friends. He and his friends also solved a lot of the problems in the world at the bar of the Eagles Lodge in Logan.Larry is survived by his siblings, Robert Guy Buttars, Brigham City, Ut, Steven Buttars, Richmond, Ut, Christy Miller, Middleburg Heights, OH, Blake (Sharon) Buttars, Dewitt IA, Maren Seamons, Fairview, Id, Joanne Petersen (Jessop), Hyrum, Ut. Larry never had any children of his own. But, he was looked up to by many nieces and nephews who love him and will miss him dearly as well as extended family, George Sirotnak, Bill Stalzer.Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Guy Layne Buttars and Afton Stoddard Buttars; sister, Sheila Albrecht; brother, Warren S. Buttars; brother-in-laws, Boyd Seamons, Burt Miller, and Ray Jessop; sister-in-law, Sally J. Buttars.The family would like to thank everyone who helped Larry out these last few years. The staff at the Cancer Center at Logan Regional Hospital, Officer Palmer, from the Logan Police Dept. for his professionalism and assistance. You are greatly appreciated. Family will receive friends from 11:00 am to noon, Saturday, Dec. 23 in the Cache Valley Mortuary, 80 W. 4200 N. Hyde Park. Interment will follow at the Richmond City Cemetery, Richmond, Ut. Condolences can be sent to www.cvmortuary.com . In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to the Logan Cancer Center in Larry’s name.Rest in Peace, Brother, Rack those balls and play 18 with a smile. We love you dearly and you will be missed.
