Larry Wayne Ewing, 80, of Smithfield, UT returned to his Heavenly Father on April 7th 2017 at 10:17 am in his home surrounded by Loving Family after an extended illness.Visitation will be in the LDS Church House located at 300 South 345 East Smithfield, Utah on Tuesday, April 11th, 2017 between the hours of 9:30 am till 10:30 am.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am April 11th 2017 at the LDS Church House located at 300 South 345 East Smithfield, Utah with the Bishop George Ross of the 21st Ward, officiating. Burial will follow at Smithfield City Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cache Valley Mortuary Kim J. Godfrey Funeral Director.Wayne was born in Logan Utah to Earl Martell and Viola Marbel (Romriell) Ewing on January 30, 1937. He went to Elementary and Jr High School at Smithfield Utah and Graduated from North Cache High School Richmond, UT in 1955. He married Kathryn Diane Haws on June 12th 1964 in Hyrum, Utah 2nd Ward. They were Sealed in the Logan Temple on May 6, 1965. He worked for the Cache Valley Dairy following his high School Graduation until his Retirement at the age of 62. He was a High Priest within the LDS Church and had a very Strong Testimony. He often spoke of his part as Security in the Martin Harris Pageant and took immense pride in this. Wayne loved Family, Old Cars, Country Music, Elvis Presley, NY Yankees, Utah Jazz, Green Bay Packers, Outdoors, Camping, Hiking, Walks, Flowers, Humming Birds, and as the list goes on He simply enjoyed life. He will be remembered as a loving Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Friend.Wayne is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Viola Ewing, his Brother Hal Ewing and Sister Darlene Ewing as well as his daughter in law Erin Rene Ewing. Wayne is survived by his Wife Kathryn Diane Ewing of their home in Smithfield Utah, daughter Ramona Ann Hernandez (Cesar Hernandez) of Logan, UT, daughter Cheryl Kaye Gerber (Gordon Gerber) of Riverdale, UT, daughter Brenda Lee Humphreys (Jason Humphreys) of the home in Smithfield, UT, daughter Sandra Lynn Clark of Cedar City, UT, son Larry Shayne Ewing (Coni Murray Ewing) of the home in Smithfield, UT. Wayne has 23 Grandchildren and 31 Great Grand Children.The Ewing family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Intermountain Hospital, IHC Hospice, Doctor David Faux, Cache Valley Mortuary, special mention to Brother Jeff Saxton, and any or all that assisted during Wayne’s illness and in our time of sorrow.
