Lee Jay Alder, 69, went home to his Heavenly Father early Wednesday morning, December 6, 2023, at Sunshine Terrace in Logan, Utah, surrounded by his two children and wife.
Lee was born September 2, 1954 in Logan to Dennis and Lela Alder, the third of five children. He graduated from Logan High School in 1971, and went on to study at Utah State University, where he received a Master’s degree in Human Resources. He married the love of his life Michele in the Logan Latter Day Saint Temple on September 11, 1999. Together they raised two beautiful children who are their pride and joy.
Lee’s greatest joy was spending time with his family. He loved being outdoors, which he compared to communing with God. He was an avid hiker, camper, and waterskier. He loved to live life to the fullest, jumping off of cliffs, skydiving, driving his beloved Triumph TR-4, and playing softball, basketball, and wallyball with his brothers.
Lee said the Gospel of Jesus Christ was the anchor to his soul and he was an avid scripture reader who never missed a day. He devoted much of his time and his life in giving loving service to others. He was a kind and caring friend to each person he came in contact with. He loved getting to know people and learning all he could about them. He loved helping others as much as he could. Lee had the ability to reach people that others couldn’t through his unassuming way of focusing on others. He faithfully served as a full time missionary in Scotland for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, among other leadership callings. He felt no greater privilege to serve as a loving father to his precious children and loving companion to his dear wife, Michele.
Lee worked at Thiokol for several years in the HR Department, then he was a director at YouthTrack, and then worked in accounting at Utah State University.
He is survived by his wife Michele; his children David and Danielle; his brothers Kent, Craig, and Scott Alder and their spouses; his sister LeNea Loosle; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
