Leonard Norris Buttars, 88, returned to his heavenly home on Wednesday July, 31, 2019. Hewas born June 17, 1931 to Leonard Buttars and Sarah Thompson Buttars. Norris must havemissed his wife of 53 years, Karen Johnson Buttars who passed away less than a month ago.He suffered a heart attack and passed away after spending 10 days in ICU at McKay Deehospital. He peacefully slipped away after measures to repair his heart where unsuccessful.Norris married Karen on November 24, 1965 in the Logan Temple. Two years later their onlydaughter Angela came to the family.Norris worked hard to support his family mostly working as a warehouseman at Ogden DefenseDepot and farming. He rose very early in the morning to meet carpools to go to the Depot and inthe summer would come home, change into his farm clothes, eat dinner promptly at 5 p.m. andthen farm until dark, only to repeat it all again the next day. A small herd of beef cattle and agarden where kept to help feed the family.He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Early on he worked inscouting. Norris and Karen also help with the Martin Harris Pageant dinner. Norris was alwayswilling to lend a hand to anyone who called needing help. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and rarelywas there a professional repairman that came to the house. He could fix most of what neededtending to, but Angela always joked that a plumbing job always required two trips to the store,sometimes three.Norris is survived by his daughter Angela and two sisters. He was preceded in death by hisfather, mother, two brothers and one sister.The family would like to thank all the nurses and doctors at Logan Regional Hospital ER and atMcKay Dee Hospital ICU unit.The funeral will be held at noon Wednesday August 7th, 2019 at the Clarkston Ward meetinghouse 25 E. 100 S. Clarkston, Utah. Viewings will be held Tuesday evening August 6th from 6p.m. to 8 p.m at the Clarkston Ward meeting house and before the funeral from 10:30 a.m. to11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Clarkston cemetery.The family would ask that in lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted to off-set thecost of the funeral.Funeral services are under the direction of Cache Valley Mortuary 80 West 4200 North Hyde Park, Utah 435 787 8514.
