North Logan - Leonard Leon Collins, 77 of North Logan, Utah passed away on Feb. 18, 2014, in his sleep, at his home with his wife at his side. Leonard was born on Jan. 7, 1937 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Engelina Schnur and Clarence Leon Collins. He was the youngest of three siblings. On Feb. 1, 1960 he married Deanna Zesiger.He graduated from UCLA in 1959 with a Bachelor's Degree in Physics and then from New Mexico State University in 1966 with a Master's Degree in Astrophysics. He was employed through the years by Northrup Corporation, in Southern California; Honeywell, in Massachusetts; Texas Instruments and Richardson Texas; and Hughes Aircraft in Southern California until he retired in Dec. 1989. Upon his retirement he moved to Utah and worked for Burrell's Press Clipping Service until 2006. He also lived in Billings, Mont. until 2013. While in Simi Valley, CA he served as a Volunteer with the City.Leonard is survived by four sons; L. Alan, Jeffery, Michael and Greg, two daughters, Michele Aguilar and Heather Alexander; 29 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and his oldest sister, Engelina Buffalo. He was preceded in death by his parents one sister Colleen and and infant daughter. A Funeral Service were held at the North Logan 15th Ward Chapel on Feb. 22 2014 with burial in the North Logan Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cache Valley Mortuary 3207 North Main.
