Linda Mary Thoreson Clark, 77 years of Lewiston, Utah passed away peacefully in her sleep while holding the hand of her beloved husband, Russell Clark on Wednesday, January 23, 2025.

She succumbed to all the complications associated with congestive heart failure along with the many other health issues she suffered with her whole life but not without putting up a good fight. She stayed positive and strong to the end even laughing and talking the day before with her house full of loved ones.

She was born August 26, 1947, in Marshall, Minnesota to her parents Emily (Frank) Roberts and Sander Thoreson. Linda was the oldest of 5 siblings. All girls. As the oldest she cared for and watched over her sisters while their mother worked. She did an amazing job at keeping them safe and cared for.

She attended Washington High School in Sioux Falls, South Dakota but chose to leave early to care for her sisters. Later on in life she studied and earned her G.E.D. in Utah which she was very proud of. She was able to attend a medical assistance college where she earned the certificate to take jobs in the medical profession helping those in hospice care. She made many deep friendships and cherished her time with every client.

On February 13, 1965, Linda married Russell Clark. Their courtship was during the fun era of cool cars, sock hops and great music. Many street races were held when a rival from the other town would find them out on dates. Dad always won! Mom tried holding on as their 60th Anniversary was right around the corner. We mentioned that 60 years ago she was planning the wedding, so this was close enough. She knew she had a wonderful husband and was the lucky one and always said this out loud.

Throughout her life she wore many hats. Linda worked as a CNA at the McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, she worked in retail sales traveling to stores throughout Utah as a Park Lane Jewelry Merchandiser, she was a seamstress for a trampoline company working from home, however she found working in the court system as a court case recorder for judges the most fascinating. One of the most important hats she wore was that of a homemaker.  She learned to garden, can food for the winter, make homemade bread, sew and mend clothing amongst other things.

Linda lived in Minnesota and Virginia as a little girl then spent her teenage years through adulthood in South Dakota. She found something unique about each state and always talked about traveling back to visit. It was during this time in Sioux Falls that she had 6 children, Annette, Ted, Steve, David, Becky and Keith. In 1979 her and Russ moved to Utah when the caboose, Keith, was only 2 weeks old. She was strong and resilient then as she and the kids packed in a station wagon to trek across many states to reach Salt Lake City, Utah as Russ drove the U-Haul.

She was a member in good standings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Linda held many different positions in the Hunter 5th Ward in West Valley City, Utah, which gave her joy. She filled her time after becoming an empty nester with genealogy work. She has many binders that hold precious stories and information that had never been researched before. Her work will be cherished for many, many years.

She also volunteered at school activities for her children which kept her days filled. Mom was a crafting diva!! In which many pillows, Christmas stockings, blankets, baby gifts, cards and bookmarks have been made by her busy hands. If you visited Linda, you may have walked away with one of her homemade gifts.

Linda enjoyed her music. Many concerts were attended whether at the County Fair or the large stadium, she shared this with her friends and kids. The most memorable concerts she attended were by Elvis Presley, Neil Diamond and John Denver. If you stopped by for a visit you more than likely heard music on the TV or the radio.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years minus 21 days, Russell Clark, and her children Annette Lebrecht (Brian), Ted Clark (Teresa), Steve Clark (Debi), David Clark (Nilda), Becky Winger (Adam), and Keith Clark (Crystal). It was always said that Russ wanted 12 kids and Linda wanted to travel. They compromised at 6 and they still traveled!! She knew how to bargain! She is also survived by her sisters, Peggy Robinson (Duane), Nancy Hansen (Randall), Debra Morrison, and Lisa Bardole (John Paul).  There was a special bond between them that could not be broken regardless of the distance.

Linda had a very large adoptive family which included many grandchildren and great grandchildren spanning from Idaho, Utah and Nevada. She loved and cherished each and every one of them and reminisced about each special day she spent going to a Jazz game or a play or simply out for ice cream. She kept in touch with her family through Facebook which allowed her to feel part of their daily lives once she was no longer able to leave her home.

She also was blessed with many friendships that lasted her lifetime. Each of her friends held a special place in her heart and she loved them dearly and cherished all the fun and crazy times they shared together. She spoke often of these times and had hoped for one last hoorrah with each of them.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother Emily (Frank) Roberts and step-father Fred Roberts, her fur-baby TC and her biological father Sander Thoreson and countless friends. What a reunion was had by all with hugs and tears.
