Lorna Nielsen Rasmussen

Lorna Nielsen Rasmussen was born April 10, 1918 in Hyde Park, Utah to Thomas L. Nielsen and Lettie Sorena Petersen. She was the youngest of 10 children. She married Peter Yunker Rasmussen, September 14, 1938. They were blessed with 3 children; Harry Paul Rasmussen (Mary Jane Dalley, deceased and Peggy Wolford), Gaylan August Rasmussen (Carolyn) and Lettie Marie Lamb (Marlo, deceased). Pete and Lorna loved to square dance and traveled all over the intermountain west calling and dancing. After Peter passed away in 1980, she married LaMonte Wheeler. They served a mission in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. LaMonte passed away in 1996.
Lorna worked as a beautician where she made her dear friends, working for over 50 years. She loved working in the temple, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, teaching Relief Society and singing in the ward choir. She lived in the family home all her life, except for a few years in Logan, Utah until 2017 when she moved in with her daughter Lettie Marie, because of ill health, still in Hyde Park. She lived a few months in North Logan with her son Paul and Peggy while she recovered from a broken shoulder. She has 16 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 11 great, great grandchildren. She loved her family pets, particularly Petey who was by her side until death. She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her brothers and sisters. Floyd Nielsen, Theon Nielsen, Rudgar Nielsen, Clayton Nielsen, Vincent Nielsen, Venice Nielsen, Zelpha Reed, Terese Nielsen, and Vivetta Merrill.
There will be a viewing in the Hyde Park LDS Chapel, located at 63 East Center, on Sunday January 13, 2019 from 6 to 8 pm and preceding the funeral service on Monday January 14, 2019, from 9:30 to 10:30, with a funeral service at 11:00 am.
