Lynn Reed Bates

Lynn Reed Bates (80) born April 19, 1939 to Floyd & May Bates in Rexburg Idaho passed away December 29, 2019 at his home, surrounded by his family in Smithfield, Utah. Lynn worked and retired from USU Space Dynamics Lab (SDL) where he enjoyed working with many great friends and colleagues.

Lynn is preceded in death by his parents, his eternal companion Karen, son Jeffrey, sister Beverly, and brother Elwood. Lynn is survived by his wife Sherrie Daw Bates, Children Jeff’s wife Sabrina Hatch, daughter Julie Curtis, son Jared Bates, daughter Ginger (Jason) Fenton, son Ryan (Alisa) Bates, sister Verna Neff, his 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and his loyal companion Buttons.

Funeral Services, under the direction of Cache Valley Mortuary, will be held at the Smithfield North Stake Center 155 w. 400 n. Smithfield.
