Margie H Chatterton

August 9, 1922 — April 12, 2017

Margie H. Chatterton, 94, passed away April 12, 2017 at Maple Springs Care Center in North Logan following a recurrence of cancer. She was born in Logan on August 9 1922 to Grant and Bernice Davis Hovey. She met Budd Chatterton while working at Modern Drug and they were married on April 4th , 1951 before moving to Layton, Utah. Later he husband would become a deputy of the Cache County Sherriff’s office following a move back to Logan with their four children, Gary, Colin, Scott and Tamara. We are very grateful to call her “Mother”. Margie was full of life and personality. She found joy in gardening, taking care of her family and many friends. He husband often said “she never met a stranger” as she could talk to anyone she met. We share a lifetime of wonderful memories of this strong, intelligent, and loving woman. We will never do so many things without thinking of her: reading a good book for pleasure, watching the Academy Awards, eating ham and potato salad, or carrot pudding, and on and on. She lived a good independent life for almost 95 years. She is survived by three of her children, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren and a brother Ronald Hovey of Locust Grove, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband Budd, of 66 years her son Scott, her Mother and Father, her brother Spencer Hovey and sister Geralding Jessop. A private Interment was held on April 19,2017.
