MarJean was a Blazer Leader and Guide Patrol Leader for the Boy Scouts. She was a Primary teacher and served in her Stake Primary Presidency and her Ward Primary Presidency. MarJean and Norris were dance directors for many years. She also enjoyed serving in the Ogden and Logan Temples. She always supported her husband in all of his callings. Service to the Lord was important to them.
MarJean was an excellent cook and blessed others with that talent. She loved to cook meals for her family, and also made meals for people in town. She was famous for her rolls, roast, pheasant, pies, and cookies. MarJean’s other interests included sewing, knitting, gardening, and travel. She loved to travel and see new things. She has been many places, including: Boston, New York, Florida, Sequoia National Forrest, Texas, Montana, Oklahoma, Colorado, Kentucky, Canada, France, Italy, Egypt, Mexico, Samoa, and more.
MarJean had many friends that she enjoyed spending time with over the years. They played Hand and Foot every Wednesday and Pinochle once a month. She was also part of a walking group for many years.
MarJean loved her family and loved to be with them. She went to many baseball games, softball games, soccer games, wrestling matches, football games, races and marathons, 4H competitions, dance recitals, musicals and plays, horse shows, cow shows, piano recitals, choir concerts, band performances, mission farewells and homecomings, baby blessings, baptisms, weddings, graduations, and birthdays. She tried to support every occasion that she could. She called family on their birthdays, gave gifts, and sent cards. She also made cookies and treats for special occasions. She was very supportive of her family.
She is survived by her five children: David (Robyn), Jay Dee (Jan), Teresa (Gaylen) Maughan, Kyle (DeAnn), and Daren (Laurel). She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren with one on the way, and many more family members, friends, and neighbors. She was loved by many and will be missed.
