Mark Rolland Hancock died unexpectedly of natural causes at home in his favorite chair on August 22, 2016 in Logan, UT at the age of 62. Mark is survived by his mother, June Hancock of Anthem, AZ, his father, Eugene Hancock of Paradise, CA, his son, Joshua Hancock of Grass Valley, CA, grandson Skyler Hancock also of Grass Valley, and siblings Brian Hancock (OR), April Dean (UT), and Randy Hancock (AZ). Mark was born on October 17, 1953 in Whittier, CA. He graduated from High School in Paradise, CA in 1971. He later received an Associate of Science Degree from Utah Valley Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Utah State University.He worked various jobs including construction with his paternal grandfather. He worked as a field supervisor for several years setting up grain dryers and farm equipment for Modern Farm Systems. This job sent him to locations around the world including Europe, Asia, and South America. Mark had a knack for fixing things and was able to think outside the box to solve problems. He used his various skills and ingenuity in his most recent position in facilities management at Utah State University.All who knew Mark remember his characteristic quick wit. He was very likeable and was always able to find the humor in situations. He was interesting to talk to because he was extremely intelligent and knowledgeable about many things. His 14 nieces and nephews loved his association.A viewing is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2016 at the LDS chapel located at 235 East 550 North, Springville, UT. A 12:30 p.m. graveside service will follow at the Historic Springville City Cemetery, 200 West 400 South, Springville, UT.All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mark’s life. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to April Dean at 1333 North Mill Pond Dr, Springville, UT 84663 The family would like to thank his good friends and neighbors for their friendship and care.
