Marsha Rawlins

January 28, 1948 — May 6, 2019

Marsha Rawlins passed away Monday, May 6 at her home with her husband and furry friend by her side. She was born in Walla Walla, Washington on January 28, 1948 to Reed LeGrande Rawlins and Ethel Scott Rawlins. Marsha married Joe Weeks on July 30, 1982 in Hyde Park, Utah.
Due to Reed’s work the family moved quite often, living in Washington, Meridian, Idaho, and Finally settling in Trenton, Utah. She attended school in Ada County, Lewiston Junior High, Sky View High School and going on to graduate from USU with a bachelor Degree in Special Education.
Marsha loved animals, especially kitty cats and spotted dogs. She loved flowers and working in her flower beds until back problems put a stop to that. She was a volunteer at heart and she had a knack for organizing other volunteers. She was a helpline volunteer and was on the Rape Crisis Team which turned into CAPSA. She was recognized with many awards including the Carnation Community Service Award from Govenor Norm Bangerter in 1985. She said, “he smelled really good”. She worked for AVA at the time they were at the Old Whittier School and she fell in love with that old building. When she heard that the school district was going to sell the building and that it might meet the wrecking ball, she formed a board of directors and the school district sold them the building. She put her heart and soul into turning it into a community center until her health made her retire.
Marsha was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Deanna Robinson (Dean) and a brother Drew Rawlins. She is survived by her husband, daughter Cindy Jo Weeks (Logan), Sister Alaine Carter (Maurice), Corrine, Utah, brothers Scott Rawlins (Karen) of Hyde Park, Utah and Daniel Rawlins (Marilyn) of Seattle, Washington.
The family would like to thank Dr. Brad Chambers and staff at the Budge Clinic and everyone at IHC who helped Marsha in the last couple years. As well as the EMT’s, Paramedics, Lewiston Fire Fighters and First Responders a big thank you. As Marsha wished she was cremated.
