Marvin Paul Neumann, 70, passed away peacefully on May 9, 2016 due to complications from a stroke.Born on July 11, 1945 to Hermann Neumann and Elsa Feil, he was the third of four boys and was raised in Salt Lake City. He graduated from West High School in 1963 and continued his education at the University of Utah, earning a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a master’s degree in Business Administration.Marv was proud of his German heritage and was privileged to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the West Germany Mission in the land of his ancestors. He loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and enjoyed studying and discussing the doctrines of the gospel.On August 24, 1972, Marv married Pam Wootton in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived for a short time in Southern California before coming back home to Utah. They have four children together.Marv’s exceptional accounting skills and his desire to help people made him “1 GR8 CPA!” He was a grammarian and had a penchant for the intricacies of the English language. He enjoyed music, landscaping, poetry and wordplay, baking, entertaining guests, refereeing basketball, decorating his Christmas tree, giving gifts, and spending time with his grandchildren. He loved sports and was a diehard fan of the Utes, Dodgers, Cowboys, andJazz. Marv was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and a loyal friend. He had such a friendly and endearing personality and was loved by so many. He will be greatly missed.Survived by four children, Tyson, Marissa (Andy) Rasmussen, Brett (Jennifer), and Tim (Lindsey); two brothers, Dick (Pat) and Dennis (Penny); and 12 grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Ralph, a dear cousin Clinton Frohm, and granddaughter Emma.Funeral services will be held at the LDS chapel at 464 W Germania Ave. in Murray, UT on Friday May 13 at 11:00 am. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 9:30 to 10:30 and on Thursday May 12 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the same location. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery.
