Michael Tyler Esplin

November 5, 1991 — November 29, 2018

On Thursday, November 29th, 2018, Tyler Esplin, son, brother, husband, musician, artist, poet, writer, philosopher, friend, and gentle giant succumbed to his battle with depression. He was born on November 5, 1991 in Logan, Utah to Bart and Tina Esplin. Tyler had a brilliant mind and excelled at academics at an early age. He was influenced by many of his teachers along the way and looked forward to learning from all of them. His mind was a sponge that absorbed everything he read. He was able to quote articles and facts from the current to the obscure. In the 4th grade Tyler discovered music and carried his love of playing almost any musical instrument he picked up throughout his life. He favored the viola and guitar. Tyler had been a member of several local bands and he loved performing with his band members. He was not bashful in his music and would play for anyone who would listen. The same can be said for his writing. He loved to write poetry and would participate in local poetry readings. He would sit at his “old school” typewriter and hammer on the keys for hours at a time. Many of Tyler’s best and happiest times were when he was in his creative, artistic mood. He married Lindsey Garvin in 2014 and they later separated but remained friends. Tyler was an animal lover. He loved his dog Wrigley and also loved the time that he was able to spend as a volunteer at the Cache Humane Society.
Tyler, we love you and, even though you have only been gone a short time, we miss you. You will leave a huge hole in our lives as well as the lives of anyone that knew you. Peace Out!
Tyler is survived by his parents Bart and Tina and brother Derik, and by his grandparents Gene and Pauline Esplin as well as many Aunts, Uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Tyrus Zangraft and grandmother Nancy Tubb Petersen and his dog Wrigley.
There will be a celebration of Tyler’s life held on December 14, 2018 from 6-9 pm at the Cache County Event Center located at 490 South 500 West in Logan.
