Nancy Carol Lamb, 64, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, after a 42-year battle with multiple sclerosis. Nancy was born on Oct. 24, 1949, in Little Rock, Ark. Her family moved to Houston, Texas, when she was a young girl. While attending Lamar High School, she was voted Lady of Lamar three times, the highest honor from her follow students. Nancy was also involved in cheerleading, school council, newspaper editing and various other school activities.While attending the University of Arkansas, Nancy joined the LDS Church after being taught by missionaries sent to her by her sister, Cathy, who was a recent convert. All the other members of her family joined the Church and were always grateful to Cathy for bringing the gospel into their lives. Nancy later received her Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from the University of Houston. In 1973, Nancy met Richard Lamb, who was attending Rice University in Houston, and after a short courtship, they were married on Dec. 22, 1975, in the Salt Lake Temple. Richard and Nancy moved to Hyde Park, where they built their dream log home. They have been blessed with three children and many animals. Nancy was a business owner and sold log homes for more than 30 years. She loved what she did and had a passion for sales, marketing and traveling throughout the West to see log homes.Despite having MS for more than 40 years, she told us that "life has been a good ride and there are not many regrets. Death is the universal hope. We die to live again, and I believe the best is yet to come."Nancy is survived by her husband, Richard Lamb, daughter Rachel (Michael) Lamb-Yanez, son Alexander (Jacquelyn) Lamb, grandchildren Kelsey, Sebastian, Dylan, Ashton, Ethan and Asher, her brother Richard (Karen) Martin, and step-father Vester Crocker. Nancy was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Lamb, her father Marion Sharp, her mother Patricia Crocker, her sister Cathy Martin, her brother Ronald Martin and her beloved dog Francesca.A viewing will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 18, at the Hyde Park LDS Church, 42 W. 200 South. An additional viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 19. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the Hyde Park LDS Church. The burial will be in the Hyde Park Cemetery.
