April 7, 1952 - May 22, 2023 (age 71)

Neal William Jenkins, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, May 22, 2023, in his sleep from natural causes. He was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and a friend to many.

Neal was born April 7th, 1952 to Russell and Ruth Jenkins of South Jordan Utah. He was the second youngest of 6 Children; Glen Jenkins, Sheldon Jenkins, Kenneth Jenkins, Ann Daniels, and Denise Petersen. He graduated from Bingham High School in 1970 where he enjoyed running track, photography for the school yearbook, and working in catering.

He was raised in South Jordan and devoted his life from sun-up to sun-down to hard work. He worked in catering venues like Lagoon, Salt Palace, Terrace Ballroom, and Prudential Plaza. While catering he met the love of his life Gwen Jenkins and was married and then sealed in the Salt Lake temple.

Neal joined the United States Army and served in Colorado Springs and then Germany. He enjoyed time with Gwen and his oldest son Paul while he served in the military. After an honorable discharge from the army, Neal worked in the garage door industry as a business owner for 45 years. After living a couple of years in Logan, and adding Dena to their family, Neal and Gwen moved their family to Hyrum Utah and had four more children; Holly, Justin, Wesley, and David. In 1994 they moved their family to North Logan.

Neal enjoyed running the garage door company and was very well known in Cache Valley for his charitable works. To Neal, the people he helped were more than customers, they were also his friends. He was well known for his kindness to others and extra time he would spend visiting.

Neal found great joy raising his family in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was an active member. He enjoyed many callings and was eager to help in any capacity he was needed. His greatest passion was being with his family. He was always active in the lives of all of his children and grandchildren. He was selfless when it came to helping others and would work tirelessly to help others any time.

Those that knew Neal saw his work ethic and strong values that he passed on to his family. He would always say his biggest accomplishment was his family and he enjoyed supporting and helping them. All of his kids would agree that he played a major role in helping them make it through their missions, college, and into careers and life.

Neal and Gwen were enjoying their few years of retirement with close friends camping, biking, and enjoying venues of many different places in Utah and Idaho.

Neal was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Glenn, Sheldon, and Kenneth, as well as his granddaughter Maggie Jenkins.
