Nolan Klint "Robbie" Robison, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, returned to his heavenly home on December 18, 2024, in Centerville, Utah, at the age of 86. Born on June 7, 1938, in Rexburg, Idaho, Nolan lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to his family, community, and God.
Nolan was the son of Charles Brigham Robison and Geneal Alida Rock. As the baby of the family, he was loved by his siblings, including Brigham Charles Robison, Elma Robison, and Ferris Harry Robison, all of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Barbara Ann Jeppson, whom he married on October 9, 1959, in the Idaho Falls Temple, where they were sealed by Barbara's uncle, Orville Jeppson. Together, they raised two wonderful daughters, Maria (Kris) and Pat (Rick), and enjoyed the blessings of six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light of his life.
Nolan's education began at Hibbard Elementary, followed by Madison High School, and he later attended Ricks College, where he played on the school football team. His commitment to service extended beyond the classroom; he served over seven years in the National Guard in both Idaho and California, exemplifying his dedication to his country and community. Nolan was honorably discharged from the National Guard in 1963, holding the rank of Sergeant.
Professionally, Nolan felt privileged to work alongside his father as a rock and brick mason in southeast Idaho until his father’s passing in 1957. He then transitioned to carpentry, where he built houses, showcasing his remarkable skills. For 25 years, Nolan worked as a unit operator at Chevron Oil Refinery, where he was known for his hard work and dedication.
A devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Nolan served in various callings throughout his life, reflecting his unwavering faith. He was also known for his kindness and generosity, always putting the needs of others before his own.
Nolan had an array of hobbies and interests that brought him joy. He coached little league football in Utah, fostering a love of sports in the youth of his community. His artistic talents were evident in his pen and ink drawings, including cartoons he drew for his friends and coworkers at Chevron, and he created numerous carved and painted pieces for family members, leaving a lasting legacy of his creativity. He also lovingly transformed their family’s 1916 bungalow into a charming cottage, showcasing his skills in carpentry and his eye for beauty. For much of his life Nolan could be found bringing his imagination to life in the wood shop that he built with his own hands. Nolan and Barbara spent their retirement years traveling the world and their home is filled with memories of their adventures.
Those who knew Nolan will remember him for his quick wit and unselfish nature. He had a unique ability to tease those he loved, bringing joy and laughter to every interaction. His devotion to his family was unwavering, and he will be remembered as a hardworking, honest, and generous man.
Nolan is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and son-in-law, Rick Gullett. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories for his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Nolan will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him. His spirit and love will live on through the countless lives he touched.
