Patty Jean Nielsen

Our beloved mother Patty Jean Nielsen, 74, passed away Feb. 2, 2016. Born in Fort Worth, Texas on Mar. 22, 1941, Patty was the daughter of Lawrence Harold Holden and Lauda Jewel Denman. She lived throughout the West with her family and siblings Larry, Candy, Emi and Michael. Settling in Utah in 1966, she made it her home for fifty years. Here she raised her family; Debbie, Tony, Tim, Cara, Misty and Cindy. She had three true loves in her life; Verdean Ilas Carter, Irvin Craig Nielsen and David Maestas. Her family grew to include 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.She was always very involved in her community theater and was a talented performing artist. She loved to paint the Cache Valley landscapes. Her hidden talent was an exceptionally beautiful singing voice. She lived a life of service working for the Utah State Division of Family Services. Since her retirement she has enjoyed traveling and visiting her family.Our mother is a kind, sweet, generous and thoughtful soul and taught by example. We are gathering in her church on Sat. Feb. 6, 2016 at 455 E 100 S Hyrum, Ut. We will receive visitors from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM and her services begin at 1:00 PM. Graveside interment services to follow at Hyrum City Cemetery at 550 E Main Hyrum. Services under the direction of Cache Valley Mortuary 3207 North Main Street, North Logan Ut (435)787-8514.
