He served in the US Army and the Army Reserves and was honorably discharged on October 30th, 1968.Perry was self-employed a majority of his life. He owned and operated his own construction company, but his happiest hours were spent working on Caterpillar tractors. Perry was an extraordinary mechanic, and his shop in Petersboro provided many hours of enjoyment. Petersboro was his home most of his life and he never seemed to want to live elsewhere. He continued the operation of the family farm, which has been in the Peterson family for generations. He is survived by his daughter Virginia Peterson of Logan; his son, Perry B. Peterson (Brittney) of Columbus, GA.; his sister Janet (Cloyd) Frederick of Providence; his brother Vaughn (Gladis) Peterson of Petersboro, nephews Kim (Loretta) Frederick of Providence, Brandon Peterson of Salt Lake City, his niece Pam Frederick Stoddard, and his many cousins. Those of you who knew Perry or came in contact with him would know that he was a very determined individual. He was committed to remaining in his own home even when his health began to fail. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the many people who made that possible. The staff from BRAG, Debbie McBride and the nurses from Integrity Health and Hospice, and the many friends and neighbors in Petersboro who offered help and assistance. A special thanks to the Shock family. The family will have a private graveside service in the Mendon Cemetery on Monday, August 24th at 1:00 pm.
